There’s a lot of confusion and mixed messages, in terms of what this election is all about. Some people have even decided that voting isn’t a big deal to them and they aren’t gonna go to the effort because their ‘guy, or gal’ didn’t make it to the playoff. It’s easy in America for someone to have that attitude because far too many people in America today have never had to sacrifice for their country and besides, they know that they don’t have to because they’re still going to reap all the benefits regardless of whether they sacrifice or not. I can tell you what this election and this country means to me though. It al boils down to, ‘honor’. The kind of honor it takes to experience the pain of seeing your buddy shot down and knowing that, because he loved his country, he gave all. It means standing your ground as long as your command tells you too, even though someone is shooting at you and the bullets are passing close enough for you to hear the high pitched whine as they cut through the air, inches from your head. It means, tearing up when you hear the Star Spangled Banner sung. Both our presidential candidates are flawed, to the say the least, but in my opinion, Donald Trump, as bombastic as he is, at least understands the concept of honor. Those who promised to support the eventual republican candidate and are now refusing to do so, are without honor, and though it is a waste of breath to say it, Hilary doesn’t understand the word. This weekend is for all Americans, but it is especially precious to those who have sacrificed. I just want to say how proud I am of each and every one of you who served in some way, and how proud I am of all those who are today, really and truly serving their country. If you still tear up at the sight of ol Glory, and the song, this weekend is especially for you
